It was a joy to design this formal dining space in our signature ‘Timeless Transitional’ style that blends the warmth and character of traditional elements with the laid-back simplicity of a modern backdrop. Apart from the beautiful stone mantle piece, this dining space to-be, overlooking my client’s country garden, was a blank canvas waiting to be filled!

For the centrepiece I sourced a dining table in reclaimed wood with a grey waxed finish to add a slight rustic charm to the room. The classic wishbone chairs in a natural finish tie in the dining set whilst the taupe vintage area rug underfoot creates a warm, inviting atmosphere for entertaining. 

When it came to selecting the curtains I was keen to bring in a deeper, rich colour to offset the white walls. The opulent dark blue/grey of these sheer curtains framed the view over the garden perfectly and added to the luxe, formal dining experience. Likewise, I was on the look-out for a lighting fixture that would act as a impactful statement piece whilst also complimenting the overall transitional style of the room. The unique shape of the wagon wheel chandelier draws the eye upwards, whilst the aged brass finish brings in some soulful vintage quirk. Finally, the textured nest-like artwork brings in a tactile edge to the scheme without detracting attention away from the beautiful stone mantle piece.
