The brief -
– for this orangery was to make better use of the floor space and to introduce new furnishings to create a cohesive look and flow to the room. The client had an existing leather sofa and two bouclé accent chairs that I needed to work into the design whilst also incorporating new furnishings to bridge any gaps and soften the overall feel of the room.
A colour palette of largely warm neutrals was requested so I began by sourcing a large oriental-style rug with varying shades of terracotta running through it, which worked to anchor the space and create a defined seating area.
I then suggested placing the two accent chairs adjacent to the sofa to create more of a communal area for entertaining, with side tables to act as a perch for drinks and extra lighting. The round sheepskin pouffe provides a textural contrast to the leather sofa, and has gently-cushioned edges for the client’s 6-month-old.
Finally, the blank space underneath the window through to the kitchen created an opportunity for a styled focal point, for which I sourced a beautiful handmade reclaimed pine console table.
